UCI (Unión de Créditos Inmobiliarios) is a specialist entity in sustainable financing that promotes the responsible purchase of housing and the rehabilitation of the Spanish real estate stock. Its personalized loans and mortgages put people and their life project at the center. In addition, its solutions promote the renovation and energy improvement of properties under criteria of sustainability, energy efficiency and respect for the environment.
The entity, with more than 30 years of experience, belongs to the BNP Paribas Group and Banco Santander, both with a 50% stake.
Business Continuity and the company’s processes are fundamental to its success, and it is for this reason that UCI decided to implement the business continuity module of GlobalSuite Solutions to improve its organizational resilience practices and comply with the ISO 22301 standard.
Challenges and scope of the project
The project’s challenges included the need to comprehensively manage business continuity plans and centralize relevant information to ensure the availability of critical activities in the event of unavailability, as well as to proactively identify risks and adopt preventive measures.
BUSINESS CONTINUITY
- Comprehensive management of continuity plans: Using GlobalSuite®, business continuity plans were managed comprehensively to ensure the availability of critical activities in the event of unavailability.
- Early identification of risks and preventive measures: The implementation of GlobalSuite® facilitated the early identification of risks and the adoption of preventive measures, thus strengthening the company’s resilience to unforeseen events.
- Centralization and sharing of information: Relevant information was centralized and shared among those responsible for critical processes during the BIA, improving coordination and obtaining key information.
- ISO 22301 Certification: The extensive functionality and parameterization capacity of GlobalSuite® was leveraged to adapt it to the specific needs of UCI on its path to certification in the ISO 22301 standard.

Solution
The implementation of the platform allowed for the comprehensive management of business continuity plans, ensuring the availability of critical activities in the event of unavailability. In addition, it facilitated the early identification of risks and the adoption of preventive measures, strengthening the company’s resilience. The ability to centralize and share information among those responsible for critical processes during the business impact analysis improved coordination and the obtaining of relevant information.
